Help System software update not checking

Hello i have had my HTC Desire HD for about 4Months. When i have checked in to look for System updates it has always checked in to look for updates and stated they are available or not what ever the case may be, but for some reason now it just keeps checking and nothing else happens. I have tried this on the network plus WI-FI and no change in answer. I have also tried using the Checkin in code it states i have checked in but no answer.I have a debranded phone on the vodafone network.
I know there is no update due yet but i dont know why it doesnt come back with an answer like it use to.
Any ideas?

I am having the same problem with HTC Desire. It was unbranded to start with and was working fine until recently. Any help or insight is very much appreciated.

HDH with Android 2.2.1

Asphalt 5 cannot be started. i get "The application Asphalt 5 (process com.gameloft.android.ANMP.GlofAsphalt5Demo.asphalt5) has stopped unexpectedly. please try again." whenever i start the game. Actually i
really don't want this game. Could it be removed by deleting the folder
"asphalt5" in the SD card?
