Root System Update after Flashing velocity?

Hi!!

OKay so I finally got velocity 1.1 on my ally. I love it! quicker and tons of room. Some cool apps also came w/ it.
A few minutes ago, I get notification that there is a system update available. It saysAndroid System Update(VS740ZVE). Well I just checked the version I have and it is the same(VS740ZVE). Is it safe to update system without losing anything?

You can tell it to take the update, but it won't work since you have a custom recovery. To get rid of the notification, open the Velocity Toolkit, choose Terminal Emulator, and type velocity.

After I type velocity I get a menu with 4 options. 1). Cosmetic changes 2). CPU Tools 3). Rom Utilities or 4) script options.

Choose option 4. Update script. Reboot. Notification gone.
