Help System update deleted from downloads?

Pridemore

Lurker
Hi, i was prompted a few days ago to download a system update, but seeing i was in Disneyland and nowhere near WiFi to download the update, i had it remind me later. Later i was clearing my downloads of junk i already deleted, and i believe i accidentally deleted the system update. Now i constantly have a notification that says "download suspended. Will resume shortly..." and the download counter is stuck at 0%. Is there any way i can restoore the system update? Its killing my battery and i dont want to risk a factory reset.

thanks for any help out there!

I'm no expert but I would do a battery pull.

After that, you can check for the update manually (if you want) by going to Settings > About phone > System Updates

I don't think that system updates get downloaded to internal memory or the SD card, so you probably duid not delete it. I think that they are downloaded to the internal /cache partition, which you shouldn't be able to see or delete.

I would think that shutting down and restarting may help. If not, try calling for tech support. Hopefully they can walk you through a non-factory reset solution.

You can try a soft reset before doing a factory by holding the two volume buttons down along with the power button for like 5 seconds.

... hold them down until the menu appears and then disappears. When the menu disappears ... release all three buttons ... you are booting up.
