Help System update & lost widget

HI Everyone,
Just installed the new OTA system upgrade and lost the "Find Contact" widget. I have looked everywhere for it and it no longer exists on my phone.
Any help much appreciated,

Hi Ian - this may be a silly question (but then again, it may not)... widgets are put on your screen differently to apps... on a screen that has enough room for the widget, you need to long press and then add widget (or it may be HTC widget, it's been a long time since I had HTC's sense on my phone)... you should then see it in a list of possible widgets.

If that doesn't sort you out, post again!

I have checked all the widgets available on my phone & for download and there is no sign of it. It is the only widget that is missing.
Any ideas?

Hmmm... strange... I wouldn't have thought HTC would have got rid of it... as I said, I don't use Sense, so I can't really comment... you may have to do a factory reset, but I'd wait to see if anyone else says that they have/don't have the widget!

Just spoken to HTC and the response was "Oh, It has been deleted from the update." Finally, after trial & error I have discovered that you can install the program widget on the home page and then use the search key (magnifying glass) to perform the search.

Well... I am surprised! You wouldn't have thought that HTC would remove something that is clearly quite functional!

Well... at least you have a work around for it... thanks for sharing your tip on how to do it... at least others who want it now have a way to do it!
