Help System update may wipe game scores

Last time my HTC Desire HD offered me a system update, it wiped my 12,500,000+ score on Smiley Pops. There's a new system update on offer, but I'm reluctant to install it in case I lose my scores again.

Anyone any ideas as to whether it's 'safe' to download the update?

It shouldn't wipe any data, did you lose anything else?

I have heard of it causing problems with Gameloft games, is Smiley Pop made by gameloft?

Didn't lose anything else. It's not from Gameloft, it's Boolba Labs. So any suggestions, still welcome.
