System update not worked properly maybe?

I apologise in advance because I can't remember what update it was, but I had a notification for a system update, my sisters both have HTCs and they had the update ages ago and got the new lock screen, were able to change the colour of the skin type thing, and the messages looked similar to those on Iphones - I however didn't get any of that when I updated my phone today only the lock screen.
How can I get the newer looking message style?

Unfortunately I think that's it :( HTC are really bad at providing new features in updates for cheap, low-end phones, like the Wildfire S. Perhaps your sister's phones are more high-end, so that's all HTC bother providing new features for because they're more expensive.

But you CAN already change the color of the skin by going to "Home", tap the Personalize button at the bottom (looks like a paintbrush), tap "Skin" and choose the one you want. You can download more by clicking "Get More".

You can download apps that have the messages like the iPhone, I used "Go SMS" before; you can get it in the Play Store for free.

There's also other ways to get cool features & clear out rubbish apps to make more space by "rooting", but im not sure how to do this yet.

Yeah I suppose, my one sister has the HTC desire, my other the wildfire s like me - although I'm sure she got the messages as well o.O
'sigh' I love the look of the bubble type messages my sister has :(

It would be great if they had the bubble-style in a future update - I'm sure it wouldn't be too difficult for HTC to do! You should try the Go SMS app & see what you think.
We should make a big forum to make HTC give us the bubbles :D
