System Upgrade 1.47.651..1 (21.43 MB) Now Available

My battery seems to be lasting longer than usual. I don't use Facebook either, so I wonder what else they may have done to help?

Is there an official list of what they addressed with the update, now that it's official?

What improvements (if any) have you noticed?

Reinstalled UNREVOKED.........check
Ran Shootme............no bueno, need to allow SU perms
SuperUser never installed from UNREVOKED............UNREVOKED broke now

Can people do speed tests and see if their 3G speed has improved? A couple users have reported saying it is faster, just want to confirm it.

I did. No improvement. Got 500k down and 300k up. It's network congestion. Late at night I can get up to 1.6Mbps.

I'm in downtown Seattle, and downloads on 4g are getting a little over 3.0 mbs whereas before I was getting ~2.0. Just got 3.3 down, the fastest I've ever gotten here. Uploads are running about normal at 0.7.

holy crankies...i got some bad news..my evo was installing update (system update) and now the screen is off and no activity...i left it ofr 10 mins and its still off.. i tried holding the power button with no success.. i took out the batt and held power button put it back in still wont turn on...WTF

Mine did the same....Wife's phone upgraded wonderfully, However on mine during the update (I assume after one of the reboots) went blank....now no action at all...press power button (nothing)

My phone was Un-Rooted-Nothing special about it....did mine and wife's at same time......

I ran the speed test here at work and it looks to be about 100 to 200 kbps faster download and 50 to 100 kbps faster upload but will be able to tell more this evening from home as I hadn't run speed test very often at work.

I installed new update, uninstalled unrevoked, then reinstalled it and it still works. anybody having same luck. But whenever I unlock it says, "operation failure, please check the su command" . Anybody know what that problem is. Is it the widgets?

Just restarted cleared everything working. Now i have everything working including root...

No.. I did that too and none of my rooted apps can gain root access. Can you tether successfully??

From unrEVOked's twitter update:
unrevoked We hope to release a patched OTA tonight for #evo4g that allows you to preserve your root and still get all the benefits of the OTA.

I also emailed the Dev of Shoot Me and he said we will need to reroot in order to use it. Hoping everything comes together later tonight.

A couple of things I noticed post-update:
Before, if I turned the phone off I would have to wait about 10 minutes before pressing the power button would actually turn the phone on. This seems to be fixed.

I went into Manage Applications, and it came up quickly, as opposed to before where it would be about 30 seconds to a minute of thinking before it was useable.

The "please check su command" means SuperUser which means you are NOT rooted. unrEVOked will have to update their software to be compatible with the update, even if it "looks" like the root worked.

Min installed on the first try. Only one widget had to be re-added for me. I had revoked Unrevoked so I won't miss that. Whenever Froyo comes out I will probably flash a rooted Froyo ROM. Until then, I think there will be lots of bugfixes and updates for such a new device so I'm sticking with whatever the current official build is for now.

Ok, so I hit an hour and a half of awake and up time, so i tried a reboot. I'm now on another half hour of up and awake time. I dont know what this update did, but its killing my battery. I opened up System, and there doesnt seem to be anything out of the ordinary running.

I ran the update this morning. My EVO has a few apps installed but no rooting. The updated took a lot longer to install than I thought. Almost to the point I got worried. However everything appears to be fine. I have not noticed anything missing or anything I had to reinstall since the update. What I have noticed is the EVO does seem a faster and when opening the Manage Applications, it took 3-4 seconds to open vs. the normal 15-20. Also

Where are you getting the update from? When I go to check updates for both firmware and htc software update I get a message saying there are no updates for my phone. I wonder if they are rolling it out based on location.

I had the same problem...I just kept "Checking for update" and it finally said there was one available. I think I did a total of like 15 checks in a row before it said there was one available. That was my experience anyway.
