Help t help needed

Hi Folks,

I was playing with my phone and I killed and disabled the people app. That seems to have removed my phone app. I went in to re-enable the people app and it says that it's running, but it's showing 0.00kb

I can receive phone calls, but I can't make them since there's no phone app anywhere to be found. It was even taken out of my home screen.

Your help would be greatly appreciated. BTW, I'm running Android 4.0

Have you rebooted your phone after you re-enabled it?

If it still doesn't work, I'd sugest a hard reset.

Hi,

I rebooted the phone, the problem persists. I have tried a different theme and the icon for the dialer exists for the theme, but when I click on it, it says that the application has been removed from the phone.

I installed a third party dialer app (ExDialer) and I can make calls and add contacts, but I can't edit existing contacts.

I'm reluctant to do a hard reset because I don't want to lose all of my settings and data and what not. It would be a major pain to restore, so I'd rather do that only as a last resort.

I get a general feeling that there is some service that I stopped that's not starting again.

At this point, I would be perfectly happy with the third party dialer, but I want to be able to edit my contacts.
