Who here is taking up Tmo on their 7 day trial offer?

Why?

Who are you with now?

Feel free to share the before, during and after experience/impressions of your trial and any other pertinent stuffs.

Okay, I signed up for the trial. I was at the tmo stand the mall. The manager loves Legere. He said that Legere got in trouble with his security, at a Tmo convention, when he insisted in leaving his body guard and mingling with his employees to thank them. They. LOVE. Him. That means a lot to me.

They send you the iPhone 5s. That's not my preferred phone, but I will use what they give me to try out their network. I guess when I try out their network using the iPhone 5s, I will be with the in crowd. I will be a cool kid!! Finally ????

I'm going to be doing this methinks. Getting real tired of Straight Talk screwing with my MMS. And the new music data announcement tickled my fancy.

Wonder what will happen to him when Sprint takes over....

would going to a post paid tmobile service be better than my straight talk sim running on tmobile network? or would it be exactly the same?

btw straight talk has been great to me, and when i got good signal its perfect! and now they raised the data cap from 2gb to 3gb, cant complain for 45 bucks.

also btw, a lot of hard core iosers i know are switching to android cus they love kit kat - also maybe cus the sgs5 is more expensive and 'pretty' than the iphone?

I mean if you're happy with your service don't switch, why ruin a good thing ;)

I would say, unless you're given a reason to switch no reason to just go out and do it.

I like the service but i frequently don't have signal and wonder if switching to post pain would give better signal

Well I mean the trial is free, what do you got to lose? :)

I mean what's the worst that can happen?, you have to give the phone back after 7 days lol.

any chance we could stay on topic of the Tmo trial plan and the views and opinions of how it worked for people? I've been on the fence for a long time. I too am considering the 7 day trial Steven58. This would allow me to either pull the trigger or hold out a little longer. TIA

let's be honest. I'm involved in this thread, so that make it less likely to be an efficient on topic thread. :p

okay... so.. I got my notice that my iPhone 5s is coming A DAY EARLIER THAN PROMISED!! that's tomorrow. I must say.. I'm a biiiiit excited! :)))))

Very interested in this thread, thanks for starting it Steven. I have kicked the Tmobile idea around for a long time due to everyone saying it's so much cheaper than vzw but when I do the math, I come out under, but not by much. That could be because I have an 18% employer discount I suppose. I was under the impression it wasn't even close but if the savings are minimal for me, then I have no choice to make.

Would very much appreciate any info you can provide on pricing between the two.

u got it. I have a twenty dollar per line per month discount with Verizon as long I keep individual data plans. even so, there may be more benefit. they have a liberal bootloader policy. they have more phone variety and they've increased their coverage, so this is my opportunity to test it. I must say that this John Legere has my attention. he seems to know what makes the consumer tick. his employees live him too. he's the genuine article and he's changing the cellphone industry single handedly. he's a rebel and so am I. :)

the phone comes tomorrow. :). I'm like a kid on Christmas Eve. :)

My employer offers an 18% VZW discount, but I refuse to take them up on it. Had VZW before, won't use them again. And I prefer GSM.

I have an employee review tomorrow. Once I'm certain I'm keeping my job, I think I'll try the T-Mob trial. But I think I'll wait and start it just before my holiday weekend in Utah. Need to see how they perform up there.

Should be interesting, I know that I am on my parents' plan, so moving is not that smart of an idea for me at the moment.

I was still tossing the idea around, but came up with nothing :p

Most people find that the prices are the close to the same if you have to do the device financing plans. However, if you go Nexus from Google play and thus avoid the financing, there's real money to be saved in the long run.

I tried T-Mobile for a month on my Moto G and was pleasantly surprised just how fast their 3G was. Granted I'm in a decent size city so coverage was good. Plus, $30 a month for unlimited data, text and 100 min is pretty sweet. If we weren't so tied to Verizon I'd switch.

And you can BYOP which makes both of those issues go away if you are willing to buy a phone outright. The rest of the world does this already and the US is finally catching up.

Think of it this way:
  • I bought my international S4 last year for $560.
  • If I use it for two years and sell it on swappa for $200, I've lost $360 in depreciation.
  • $360/24 months is $15/mo. to use the device.
In the long run, that's pretty cheap--probably less than 1/3 of your taxes and fees on Verizon :p And I can do anything I want on a factory unlocked international device. And I can buy/sell/trade whenever I want.
