Root [T-Mobile] Can anyone help me unroot my htc phone to the original carrier

cindy_f07

Lurker
ORIGINAL CARRIER IS TMOBILE AND THATS MY PHONE COMPANY I WANT TO UPDATE IT AND IT DOWWLOADS THE SOFTWARE BUT THEN I PUSH INSTALL NOW AND TURNS OFF TO RECOVERY MODE ALSO I TURN IT OFF AND PUSH THE VOLUME BUTTTON DOWN AND POWER AND IT SAYS TAMPERED AND UNLOCK... NOW I WONT GET ALL MY PHONE CALLS AND I BOUGHT IT FROM A THIRD PARTY

As I asked in the PM thread, what are your software and hboot versions? Unless your HBOOT also says "S-Off" we will need those to find an RUU which will work with your phone.

Of course the other option, since you are rooted and have a custom recovery, is to forget about the official updates and use a custom ROM. Requires slightly more learning, but also gives you more options.

Actually there's one other, very important, detail: you've not actually said which HTC phone model you have! I had thought I'd seen it in the PM, but just checked and it isn't actually there either.

Thanks :)

Actually it's best not to post IMEI or serial number on the internet (though at least those are embedded in images rather than plain text). (Edit: I see El Pres spotted that already!).

It would be good to know what it says on the screen that said "tampered" and "unlocked": "hboot version", "baseband" and most especially whether it says "S-On" or "S-Off". From the software version I assume you are using the US T-Mobile network, rather than one of the European ones. But really it's the S-On/S-Off which is key, since I've not yet found a T-Mobile KitKat RUU, so if it's an S-On TMo-US handset the custom ROM option may be the simplest answer.

P.S. I still don't understand what you said in the first post about not getting all of your calls.

TURNS OUT WHEN I CALLED TECHN SUPPORT FROM TMOBILE THEY SAID IT HAD TO DO WITH THE PHONE BEING ROOTED THATS WHY I WASNT GETTING ALL MY PHONE CALLS. AND I WANTED TO KNOW IF THIS WAS TRUE
THANK YOU VERY MUCH AND IM SORRY I DIDNT KNOW HOW IMPORTANT MY IMEI IS...THANK YOU FOR REMOVING IT FOR ME :)

I highly doubt root is the reason you can't get calls, but networks tend to blame root for everything!

I'll move this to the M7 root section, the guys there should be able to assist. :)
