T-mobile G2

I decided to abandon blackberry because of its horrible UI, clunky browser and a heap of other features i dislike for an Android, specifically the T-mobile G2.
I am in central America so that phone is not a choice here, anyways i bought it from Ebay unlocked and im just wondering how will updates work? Can i still get them from t-mobile, and i push it through the PC without having to hack it?

When it is jailbroken there will be no problem right?

if you are able to download the OTAs yourself, probably not, but i doubt you would receive the OTAs after its unlocked... the phone doesnt have to be rooted or "jailbroken" to download updates and ota apks...

I understand that but is there any other way to update other than OTA?

yea when they come through most times people will post links to the download or the apks for others to update with out getting the ota
