Root T-Mobile LTE unstable?

I have Nexus 4 with .33 radio flashed and stock 4.2.2, and I live in downtown Salt Lake City. I got the LTE signal since June but I found out that it's unstable. Basically half of the time only HSPA+ is available, even if I choose the "LTE only" option. When LTE is connected, it's stable for several hours and pretty fast, with 2-3 bars.

Is this normal? I'm not sure whether it's my phone's problem or because LTE is recently rolled out so TMobile they need some time to tune it.

LTE is typically unstable in places in which the LTE rollout isn't complete. I'd wait it out. I had LTE (I live in San Jose, CA) before a lot of people. I advised one my forum buddies to wait it out. A month later he was getting great LTE.

Your Mileage May Vary (YMMV),

Just a quick question. Didn't wanna make new thread just for this. Does the $30 plan with 100 minutes unlimited data have LTE? I tried flashing and it won't show up. I live in Valley area in SoCal.

Did you complete all the steps in the OP of the LTE thread stickied at the top of this forum. And yes, you can use LTE.

Yes, every single step. The only question is, is it possible that something went wrong with my phone that result this kind of 4G signal on and off, even in the same location?

Hey, I just moved back to Salt Lake a couple months ago. I didn't know they were planning to roll out LTE here yet. Is the ROM you're using based on 4.2 or 4.3? I personally can't vouch for 4.3 yet, I'm running a version of Paranoid Android from about a month ago.

It's very likely that LTE isn't fully rolled out in your area. Especially if you did the mod correctly. This has happened to others. My best advice is to wait it out. This may not be what you want to hear, but it is well worth it. Best of luck friend!
