Help T Mobile prepaid questions

I'm a dumb phone user of T-Mobile's pre-paid which is only for talk and text. My phone is ancient and I'm planning on buying the 16gb Nexus4 in a few days and was wondering if I'll be able to use my existing pre-paid plan(if I cut the sim card down to a micro sim) and yet still be able to use the phone's wi-fi while at home to access the internet and make calls like with skype or google voice. Will it let me use it's wi-fi even though my phone plan does not support data?

Yes you will be able to continue using your pre-paid plan. Yes you can use wifi at home.

OK thanks for the reply. I had tried this once on a ZTE(?) smart phone and that one kept giving me an error when I tried to access the internet even though I had WI-FI connectivity so I returned the phone. Hopefully this Nexus will work though.

That's a good idea for folks trying to save even more money, though $30 a month is already pretty cheap with internet included on t-mobile.
