Root T-Mobile ROMs DO work for Metro PCS phones

To those who were/are curious whether or not the T-Mobile L9 ROMS being developed work for MetroPCS' L9. Yes. Yes they do, haha. Just tested three out today, no bricks at all. Just spreading out the word to those who dont know yet.

These are the ROMs i tried out:

Pretty damn customized ROM in my opinion, ran smoothly and it is based out of CM 10.1 (4.2.2). I think it was created to simulate a tablet because when browsing through the settings, everything gets pushed to the left and whatever you open (for instance Wifi settings), gets opened on the right half of the screen (in this case, the settings to add or modify your Wifi connections appear on the right)

Another port of the famous Cyanogenmod ROM, but i believe it is being provided with OC and UV abilites... or its somewhere separate in the thread and you have to flash it through CWM (i say this cause, i couldnt get it to OC in the Performance settings, so im assuming he is providing it separately)

This one looks REALLY promising, was smooth, and customized like crazy, based off of CM 10.1 as well BUT... the screen came out inverted. The colors, and the screen itself was swapped like when unlocking the Bootloader. I tried flashing the touchscreen fix and the Inverted Screen fix from the files provided to unlock the bootloader, but it would still boot up inverted on me. If someone gets different results with this one, or even after attempting to flash the screen fixes, please update how the heck you did it !!

I dont take credit for any of this work btw, im just a curious phone nerd testing out what works and what doesn't :pcguru: Im just here spreading the word

This is something I've been curious about ever since I got my phone, I appreciate you testing these thus satisfying my curiosity.

Is data working properly?

The L9 is actually a t-mobile phone re-branded to metropcs. It's the first GSM phone to hit metropcs shelf. T-Mobile bought out MetroPCS.. IPhone 5 is coming to metropcs also..

I have root and recovery but not unlocked BL. Can I flash one of these roms or must have unlocked bl ?

Who else has tried and confirm this, im about to buy this phone tomorrow this is actually good news.

Tried what, rooting and unlocking the bootloader? Yeah I can confirm.. I'm unlocked and rooted and running CM 10.1

I was asking about running the tmobile roms on the metro l9

There isn't any reason any of the T-Mobile (P769, specifically) ROMs wouldn't work on our phones.

The MetroPCS L9 is a P769 (it even says TMUS P769 on the bottom of the box). I'm running AntonX's CM10.1, and it works perfectly. Even MMS worked out of the box, but I added Metro's APN information just to be sure.

You could even flash T-Mobile's stock ROM onto the Metro L9 and it will probably work.

Yes I can confirm that t-mobile p769 rom will run on the metropcs L9.. Like I said, it's the same exact phone.
The metropcs L9 is actually running on t-mobile network. MetroPCS is CDMA..

I Flashed the Avatar ROM and my screen is backwards. I find that this happens whenever i flash a ROM made for the p760. i believe the only way to fix this is to port the rom to the p769.

I know that anything made for the p769 work on our phones, i'm running twinnfamous's PACman 4.3 port for (p769) updated 8/30/13 found here:

how the hell did you guys unlock this phones bootloader i just tried 4572373 things all night DX

When I tried to unlock my bootloader, the phone would just restart with the lights blinking. I had followed the instructions the way it was shown in the video. I eventually gave up for about an hour. I just let the phone sit there with it's inverted screen. I tried again, and it just worked right away. It might work for you, it might not
