I have Samsung Vibrant SGH-T959 for almost 18 months. I have received unlock code from t-mobile and it is not working. They escalated internally (that is what they claim) and unable to fix the issues. They tried to blame manufacturer. I contacted Samsung. Apparently Samsung has nothing to do with unlock codes and they are controlled by the carrier.
They have tried to send me different hand set and could not do this because phone is out of warranty. Finally they asking me to upgrade the phone and pay $100's more for new phone and extend my rate plan. They are showing no flexibility to fix the issue and looking for someone else to blame.
I have asked for unlock code for couple of other phones (S3) and they are not processing unlock code requests. They are asking me to wait for 18 months. There is no assurance, they can fix the problem without giving out of warranty reason after 18 months. These phone are fully paid.
Did anyone has similar experience and what are the proven options?
