Root [T-Mobile] TWO s off methods!

did you read this? ;)

what that statement means,is "yes. s off is impossible if youve accepted either the OTA or run the RUU, and have updated to 1.27.531.11"

your stuck with s on until another exploit is found. :(

the first rule of rooting,is always take advantage of exploits when they pop up. they tend to get patched quickly.

a good rule with htc is never accept an ota or run a new ruu(leaked or official) while s on. the tighter security gets, the harder it is to crack.

The last two nights I'd been up until 3 AM trying to fix this stupid phone, so I'll let a few grammatical errors go... :)

I just bought the phone a couple of days ago, so it may have already had the patch on it, and also been impossible to s-off anyways. Oh well. When I did reflash the ruu the numbers matched, so that makes me believe it was already there.

Ok, well I guess it's time to go ROM hunting. I hate flashing and reflashing just to find the ROM I want, so it'll be a lot of reading to find exactly what I want. Thanks for the help.

BTW, was it you the wrote the instructions on how to RUU on the other thread? I'm not sure if this is always important, but I couldn't get it to work until the boatloader was relocked. So, you may want to add that to your instructions. Just a thought, again, thanks.

it was mentioned in that thread that the bootloader needs to be relocked on s on phones to run an ruu. the relock command is not included in the quote box because those are a very universal set of instructions, and not all phones have unlockable bootloaders, nor is the relock neccessary on an s off phone. sorry if it caused you some confustion. ill add that bit in to clarify it for others in the future. :)

at any rate, glad you are sorted. you shouldnt be disapointed with the rom selection for the one, there are several good ones, from slightly modded stock to modded AOSP to modded google play. just holler if you have questions. dont be afraid to start new threads,or post in old ones we are here to help :)

I finally got s-off! I WAS SOOO EASY! Easy then any HTC device that I have before!

I would like to say those posting on XDA is so long and so wordy that it discourage people from doing it!

All I did was follow this video: QbKing77 | Your Tech Simplified

Make sure your HBOOT is not 1.54 which means if don't buy the phone when it first came out, then the exploit has been patched! Does that means buy the phone even if you don't need it now?

glad you got s off finally  phones with minor updates can be downgraded back to s-offable firmware,as long as they still contain 1.44 hboot.

folks on 1.54 are for now, screwed :( no way to downgrade hboot or s off 1.54 yet.

hopefully new purchases are still comming out of the box on release firmware :)
