Will the HTC desire work on the T-Mobile 3G network if it is unlocked?

No, eu devices won't work on US 3g, only 2g

T-Mobile USA uses HSPA/WCDMA for 3G as opposed to some of the other carriers with use CDMA2000 for data access. If that is the case then it will work. Verizon for example use CDMA2000 so it wont work on Verizon.

The US operates on different 3G frequencies to those we use here.

IT WILL NOT WORK ON 3G! Only 2G/Edge. If you want a 3G Desire, you will have to wait until they launch the US version!

Hmm you're right it wont work. But not because T-Mobile USA operates on different frequencies (their 3G service is 1700/2100) but because HTC didn't include AWS. Strange omission.

No one in the EU uses 1700 or 850. T-mobile here use 1800/2100 for 3G
