T-Mobile wants to do an update?

So I got a little icon on my Vibrant this morning, and it's T-mobile letting me know that a update is available for my phone. I know that the update to 2.2 isn't being done as a OTA, but this seems like it is. I click next and it tells me it will take about ten minutes to update, during which time I can't use my phone.

Since the 2.2 isn't being done as a OTA, what could this be? Has anyone else gotten this? Thanks in advance!!

A 2.1 maintainance for what? I just try to install it and when the screen goes to the update mode I dont know what happend it restar again and says DM sesion has stoped. If anyone has the same ichue please share with us. Thnks

The 2.2 update that rolled out via Kies Mini will not go out over OTA All that info stated explicitly here: Samsung Vibrant software upgrade to Android 2.2 (F... - T-Mobile Community

DM = Device Management. Its how Tmo updates the phone and even pushes an update, though as a rule of thumb they deny the ability to do so, but thats what DM is for.

To those who have had issue with the 2.2 update, I agree, but found that doing a factory reset, while a pain in the ass, has cleared most of it up. Though I still get the occasional wifi wackiness.

I got this OTA update from T-Mo yesterday and somehow it installed it after a few glitches (mainly screen freezing up or not doing anything).

I am still on Eclair though because the Samsung Minikies update to Froyo is not working for me. I am not sure what I am doing wrong but if someone points me in the right direction, that would be mucho appreciated.

And to give some info, I have a MBPro with WinXP running thru VMware. I downloaded Minikies and everything went fine except when I connect my Vibrant for updating to Froyo, nothing happens. I am not quite sure what is the issue here. I don't have another laptop running any Windows variants. It is running OpenSuse linux.

Anyone else having issues because of OSX or Linux and have successfully gotten around it, feel free to share.

Did that. Still nothing.

I open up Mini Kies, plug in my phone thru USB and it actually asks me for the USB mode (I set it to Ask for connection option like it says on the TMo site). So once I pick Samsung Kies, nothing happens further.

I have the latest Mini Kies version just updated yesterday.

So I wonder why I am not getting the update.

ANYONE?
