Tab 2 Cases?

Preordered mine the other day.

Anyone know of any cases for the Tab 2? It appears the dimensions are very similar to the 7.0 Plus (Tab 2 being .01" thicker lol). Im thinking i can use a portfolio built for the 7.0 Plus but was wondering if anyone has seen anything different.

Thanks! :D

Most portfolio cases should fit. I have put galaxy tab in portfolio cases made for the kindle for so the extra thickness shouldn't matter too much.

That looks like the case I have. The Tab 2 7.0 fits OK but the headphone jack is on top vs the left side so you might need to cut a new hole.

The two things that you need to watch out for when you use a case that was originally designed for the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus is the headphone jack is in a different place (top vs left side) and there is also an IR port for the Peel remote function on the right side of the Tab 2 that you don't want covered.

Best Buy had one case that says Samsung Tab 2 7.0 by Belkin. It was the ONLY accessory they had for it. It was $40.

I saw this last night at BB... It looked quite bulky for my taste and quite expensive. Even saw in the Amazon forum, that someone complained that it would pop out of the corners. Hopefully there will be more to come...

Excellent points to consider. Hopefully mine works out.

I got both my tab and sleeve from amazon.

I can confirm this fits but it is very tight. It is OEM Samsung for the original.

$7.40 w/ free shipping.

Just installed this case and it is amazing!

Nice tight fit but not too tight. Stand functionality work really well and is secure. All buttons are free. All ports are unobstructed except one, i believe the skype mic is covered by the case but could altered will a simple drill of a whole. Not a huge deal for me since i don't Skype but something to keep in mind.

Total depth of case and tab 2 is .75" Amazing considering the Tab 2 is .41" by itself!

Let me know if anyone has any other questions!

So I got this case not too long after i got my tablet. I feel something is not right on this case. When you close the case, is it closing on the ir reciever? The little black thing in the right side of the tablet? Is the case's latch going to ruin the ir reciever? It feels like mine got pushed in more.

Bought the same case. No problems with it, works well.

The Best Buy stores that are closing have it for about half off. I picked one up, it works well, but I saw a folio case made by samsung that looks much nicer, but I can't find anywhere to get one. My Tab also came with a leather pouch (Costco bundle for $240) and that looks nice, but it's not very protective.

Bought the Moko Case off Amazon for the Plus tablet. Fits good enough, a portion of one tab just covers the edge of the speaker, but no biggie. Excellent protection, plus the 2 stand angles in landscape is nice. $18 bucks shipped Prime was good enough for me.

I got the Samsung Tab 2 7.0 for Mother's Day and this is the case that I ordered and it fits perfect, nothing is covered that shouldn't be and the price was pretty reasonable -

I just ordered the new Poetic Slimbook Leather Case (Amazon.com: Poetic Slimbook Leather Case for Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 Black(Included 2 Micro SD Card Slots) (Business Card Holder is Plus) (3 Year Manufacturer Warranty From Poetic): Computers & Accessories). This is specifically made for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0.

A common complaint from other users was that if you used a case meant for the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus, the mic port was covered. The above case should not have this problem.

There is also the hardback version here: Amazon.com: Poetic HardBack Protective Case for Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 With HandStrap with Built-in Folding Cover - Black (Stylus Holder / Inner Strap to hold the cover open is a plus) (3 Year Manufacturer Warranty From Poetic): Electronics

one note about the zagg screen protectors (I've never used one before so maybe this is old news) but for the first day I thought it felt very sticky and very much slowed down the scrolling on the screen. However, each day since it's much better. Today I can barely tell I have anything on the screen. It's amazing. I've always just used cheap protectors on my smartphone, but I'm happy now with the Zagg (and the money I spent for it.)

And the kindle fire case doesn't seem to block anything - it's just got elastic straps in the corners.

I have the Roocase. I purchased it from Amazon. It's very nice. Fits well. All ports, buttons, etc. are clear. Easy to hold or use as stand. Would recommend it.
