Tablet (Android 4.2.2) + Ethernet = freeze

Hello guys. Greetings from Greece. I bought, some days ago, an F&U tablet pc (probably this is a chinese -unknown- brand) with 512 Mb of Ram, Cortex A8 processor 1,2 Ghz, 7" screen 840 x 400 resolution, with Android 4.2.2. Everything works fine. The problem is, when I try to connect the micro USB OTG cable (which was included in the box) with the Ethernet cable (via a Usb - Ethernet adaptor ofcourse), the tablet freezes. Sometimes, I can open some simple pages, like Google and Wikipedia, but when it comes to Youtube videos, again it freezes. I would like to mention that in my Android I have already the option for ethernet (enable/disable). On the other hand, when I use wi-fi connection, everything works fine. Even with large videos in youtube. Why that is happening? By the way, the reason I want to use Ethernet on the tablet pc is a) to reduce exposure to EMF Radiation and b) for faster and more reliable internet connection. I also want to add that I am not interested in "reverse tethering" solution as I want my laptop to be turned off.

If anyone can help me about that, I would really appreciate it. :)

It's possible that the device needs a driver for the Ethernet adapter, or for OTG in general. The problem is that the manual, even if it's in Greek or English, is probably not a very good translation of a pretty non-technical Chinese explanation. That's one of the problems with buying these "off-brand" devices - there's no support available. Unless someone else has one and has solved the problem, it's going to be a "guess and try" procedure until you find an answer or give up.

It seems OK on WiFi, you plug the adapter in then it crashes and/or freezes. Chinese device, unknown brand. The Ethernet adapter was included with it. I would say almost certainly the tablet is either buggy or defective. Probably was never tested properly. You could try resetting it to factory defaults. If that doesn't fix it, you'll most likely have to RMA it for replacement or refund. I had one myself and it would often crash when plugging a 3G modem into it.

The brand is F&U and I THINK it is Chinese. I am not quite sure. Because, reading the manual, it gives no information about "made in...".
The adapter was NOT included. Only the microUSB to USB cable, was included.
Thank you all for your answers.
Does anyone know where I can download a driver for ethernet for Android 4.2.2.
I bought a DiMAX EU-4208 model ethernet adapter.

The only "F&U" I know is f-n.com.cn Which is a pipe company from Sichuan Province. Which I think is Chinese. A few Chinese devices do come with Ethernet adapters or have an Ethernet socket. Just about all Android tablets are made in China, especially little known brands, usually Shenzhen.

The company that made your Ethernet adaptor, probably only supports Windows and Mac. To add drivers into Android, they have to be incorporated when a ROM is compiled, rather than afterwards AFAIK.
