Tablet for school

So in my MBA program a lot of documents are available as PDF's.

I'd like to be able to load them onto a tablet and write on them with a stylus of some sort.

Would the new Samsung Galaxy note 10.1 option be my best bet?

I'd also like to be able to use a keyboard at some times for fast note taking.

asus transformer infinity would be my suggestion. it can do pdf's and microsoft office. plus it has the coolest keyboard dock that is amazing. i have it and i use it more then i do with my computer. and the keyboard is so much more then a keyboard. it has a track pad. it is a battery pack to extend the battery life of the tablet. plus it has a sd card slot and a usb port.

In addition to the Infinity, I'd take a look at the TF300T. A little worse screen quality, but cheaper too. It's keyboard docking station is fantastic.
Almost all reviews I've read on the Note 10.1 have been quite negative. At this point, I wouldn't recommend Samsung for tablets.

iPad with iWork, Dropbox or iCloud.

What's the best option for a stylus and app for writing on PDF files?

I would like to be able to highlight and write on them as needed as well as save them with the modifications.

What's the best App for that?

Currently stylus aren't really good on Android or iPads unless you are using a Galaxy Note.

As for an app for using PDFs including writing notes on them, I'd prefer ezPDF over any other.

I prefer the Galaxy Nexus 7 by Google, here's a "fair" comparison:

No such thing as the "Galaxy" Nexus 7. It's just Google Nexus 7. The product isn't made by Samsung. It was manufactured by ASUS.

With that said, if you are looking for a cheap, but reliable tablet for your schooling purposes.. I would definitely consider the 16GB Nexus 7 or the 32GB ASUS TF300T.

ezPDF is a fan-favorite, but Adobe Reader itself now allows highlighting (not sure about annotations though). Honestly, I think the only tablet I have seen that had some kind of stylus support was the HTC Flyer and that didn't sell very well. Better off buying a keyboard dock for one of the ASUS tabs.

You're a bit late to the fun:

Adobe PDF reader does indeed have highlight and annotation, but it has less features than ezPDF, like highlight+define words

As for a tablet with actual stylus support: Galaxy Note 10.1
Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 N8000 - Full phone specifications

Uses WACOM stylus tecnology so its accurate as a real pen (the tip of the S pen is a bit pointy like a real pen) and detects over 1000 levels of pressure when writing/drawing.
