Tablet keeps looping on start up?

I went to start my android tablet only to find that it wouldn't start. As I haven't used it for a few weeks, I thought maybe the battery was dead so naturally I hooked it up to the charger.

However, when I connected it to the charger rather than the battery icon come up, the android splash screen come up. after a couple of seconds it went to another splash screen and then the screen went black.

This process kept repeating until I removed the charger and the tablet went dead. Hooked it back up to the charger and the same thing keeps happening!

Anyone else experience the same problem and what was the outcome?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried Leaving it on the charger for a good bit without messing with it?

What tablet do you have?

To be honest I haven't left the charger in, I keep taking it in and out hoping for something to change.

I only have one of these cheapish Chinese efforts, but it's always served me well and I've never had an issue with it before. It's the first time I've never not used it for a while.

It's running ICS if that's of any use?
