Tablets?

Norril

Admins,

Can we get a tablet section created? I would love to see a section for all the Android tablets, like we have for all the phones. I have been reading quite a bit over the last 2 weeks, trying to find all the latest and greatest on them and seem to have to find the info on other sites. When it comes to phones, this place is always the place to go. Lets make it happen with Android tablets too please :)

Notion Ink? Nvidia? MSI? Acer? Asus? WePad? HTC tablet?

So many great devices on the way...:D:D:D

Edit: skip to my next post in this thread for the listing of tablets of interest so far.

Here are some links to tablets I am keeping an eye on. Still hoping these forums open up a tablet specific section, with sub sections for al the different Android tablets.

Edit:
(Thanks to slbailey1) Dell Tablet roadmap, including their Looking Glass line. looks sweet!

There are more and a bunch of non Android tablets on the way, but this is a good starting point for anyone interested in a good Android alternative to iPhad.

bummer, I just noticed the one person in this thread with me is now banned. I'm feeling lonely!:(

I'm all for a tablet section! And then there were 3!

Woot!

I'll go let folks in the Evo, Droid and Incredible threads know that we are trying to get support for this ;) I hope I don't get in trouble for cross marketing this idea.

I would have to have a tablet section also! I'm looking at the Dell Looking Glass Pro, scheduled for release between Jan, 2011 and Apr, 2011.

The LG Pro will have an HD display! Also starting with the Dell Steak there will be a Kindle for Android application.

I'd love to pick up a tablet...maybe. Depends what comes out, what OS it has, battery life and price. Also, depends if I see a need. Really though, I just want one because I'm a geek and I like gadgets to play with.

Well, check out the Notion Ink tablet. Android and amazing battery life. Also great as a book reader, being visible in sunlight.

Now that Steve Jobs has very publically declared "no Flash" on his mobile devices, I suspect Android tablets are going to be an even better selling product. I hope it really backfires on Steve Jobs!

I have just purchased a 7" android tablet running 1.5, it has a 1.2ghz cpu and 2gb rom.dont ask me what make, cos till i get it, i dont know, now all we need is , is some dev's to come up with more apps/ updates for these ever increasing number of tablets

Hey guys, I love tablets too!
I add my vote for a tablet section :)

Oh, and check out my signature - it'll give you some interesting info!

Hmm sorry, I thought my sig was viewable to everyone. Android Tablets - I'm currently in the process of registering the .ca domain. I want to try to linkback to the forums from the site so that readers of the blog can meet up with the people already here :)

I suppose I should add the Barns and Noble Nook to the list. It now officially has a browser on it and does work. It is rather slow though and really can't compete with the other Android tablets. It is a great book reader though. Have had it now since end of last year (I preordered for me and my GF) and am very pleased with it.

Good eye, norril - I posted about it. How do you find the nook for basic daily use? More importantly, was it worth $250 or would you purchase one of those cheap chinese tablets instead in future?

I definately like my nook. I will continue using it, even if I fine a bigger tablet, like the Notion Ink. I love holding it in one hand and it really gives me the full book reading experience.

I would not grab some other brand reader. THe only other one I would consider would be the Kindle, but I am an Android guy, so that one is not really an option either.

One draw back is the missing books. Sure, there are a million boks to download, but I still can't find all the books I want. what I do is go into a B&N store, browse the shelves and find them, then check online to see if available. I am batting about 2 out of 3 right now, which isn't bad.

Well, I'll let you know how the tablet I bought goes for reading - 7" is not bad considering currently I read ebooks on my benq s6. I read somewhere that you can read parts of the book for free if you go inside a B&N?

Look at what I just posted - $200 off a lenovo tablet - wonder if android could be crammed on it?!
