Taking extra batteries on a plane?

I bought 2 extra batteries and a wall charger on ebay. I am flying across country next month and plan on playing with the phone on the plane. Does anybody know if there is a problem bringing the extra batteries on the plane with me? Will security let me bring them on or do I have to stick them in my luggage? Thanks for any info

Ditto...I just got back from a trip where I boarded 4 different times and didn't get bothered with carrying an extra battery. They seem to care about 2 oz of water that I inadvertantly had on me than the leatherman I accidentally had in my carry on bag

This is funny... The TSA is a joke.

+1^^^We have no clue how to "do" security. In order not to lose a $10 really nice water bottle, I had to be escorted back out of the secure area and dump the water in the water bottle and then wait in line to get back in. Ridiculous...luckily we had a lot of time. I also had forgotten I had a pack of matches in my pocket and sauntered right on thru security with matches on me..what a joke
