my desire hd has got a few problems, so im taking it in for repair or replacement, should i do a factory reset before i take it back, and will this delete everything, like my goolgle account login, what i,ve been browsing on the net and anything else that i,ve used phone for since i,ve had it

If you remove the SD Card before the reset, you'll keep all your files (pics/vids etc). The factory reset will delete all the account information on the phone and put it back as it was when you first took it out of the box.
For security reasons, you might want to do it, but you could just delete all your accounts from the phone rather than reset.
