Help Talk to Text Issues

My S3 needed corrections fairly often but my new S4 is horrible at text to talk. I went into the settings and changed it from auto to American English and that helped but it is still not nearly as useable as my S3. Sometimes it's dead on but other times I'll say something over and over again and it spells out nonsense.

Not getting any better. Makes me want to throw this phone out the window sometimes. Any ideas? Certainly I'm not the only one

Why on earth does my talk to text work good on facebook but it totally sucks for texting

Are you possibly holding the phone either too close or too far away? Talking in an area with a lot of background noise? Have a cover which interferes?

I've not had that much trouble, but you do need to verify what it says. I remember once apparently making a nonsensical comment about Asians that I'm glad I didn't send!
