Root Tapout Version Rooting

So after dealing with lag after lag and just getting fed up with this phone I paid $150, I found this site. I looked through the rooting guides for the previous version of the phone, but see nothing specific for this version. Is there a way to root the phone to improve the way it runs or am I being a noob and not understanding what is going on here. Thanks for the help in advance.
