Root Task killer/Task manager app?

Which app do you guys use to kill apps or tasks? Or what do you think is the best one that is efficent and reliable?

Settings | Apps | Misbehaving app | Force close

If the app isn't misbehaving, you should let Android take care of closing it out of memory. Android is optimized to run at or near memory capacity for battery lice and performance gains and any attempts to force it to free up memory will hinder this (slow the phone and kill the battery).

I hope this helps.

Unforgiven... was wondering... since task killers don't work what can be done to free up memory? I've used V6 supercharger script but was wondering if there was a better script/app that could be used instead.

Android is meant to run with only 60-100mb free. Any more than that is a waste of battery and processor.

I use the one that was installed initially. Jobmanager is still fairly lightweight, and I really like it.

Like tube said task killers do more harm then good. Since lots of people use windows they have a misconception about how android manages memory. Task killers go out of their way to terminate programs and services just to free up space. Also each time you kill a task you end up taking up more battery power starting it up again. Let android handle the apps. Trust me its really efficient. If an app is not playing nicely use the misbehaving tool listed above.

If you don't have that option then as a last resort use advance task killer. However make sure to turn off its automatic features.

I have a taskmanager, but its a system monitoring type deal, I found out real early that taskmanagers have no useful use. I have a thing about monitoring, like batt. temp, etc.. A good app for that is Elixr..

Not really a task killer...but Autostarts is a good way to prevent apps from running unecessarily. Like when you switch on your wifi or 3g. I also like Droid Wall for preventing apps with pesky internet permissions ie...most games...from fetching ad's. I know ad block is built in to the rom Im using...but games always seem to be able to get their ads anyway without it.

apk killers are no-no I use ROM toolbox (free) to block auto start permissions so only what I want to start does at boot. I use V6 for mem tweak and custom sysctl.conf for kernel tweaks but you can use Toolbox to do same thing and apply at boot if you don't like using script. also got build.prop editor, AD block and file/app manager built in plus more but I just use for auto start and to confirm my memory scripts worked (not set at boot just see if values right after reboot)
bleh
if any one wanna copy my sysctl.conf or share theirs do I can improve mine PM me

I just used fast reboot everytime you wake your phone up from sleep it's almost like its rebooted up. my ram always runs around 150 to 160 free at all times.
