task killers vs lock screen

Hi,
I have a GS2, my problem is that when I use no task killer, the lock screen set with a pattern works perfectly.
But as soon as I install a task killer, no matter which one, I tried many, even set to a high security level, it deactivates the lock screen, as if task killler would kill the lock screen task.

Any idea?

Let me say to the OP, that we are not coming down on you for using a task killer. There is a lot of bad advice floating around out there about them, even from the reps at stores who still tell new phone owners it should be the first app they install. We're just letting you know where your problems may be stemming from.

We're here to help.

Ok thx, so I will forget my task killers.
But as coming from windows world, I must say it's quite un-natural for me to leave an unsed application opened as it sounds logical that it's ram/cpu consuming so battery consuming....

Android is not Windows. The memory management model is completely different. If you read through that link I provided,it explains it pretty well.

ok, forget, problem of no screen lock activation occurs even without a task killer, it's just that the problem appears later...
I must have a issue with my GS2 that stops the lock screen process at some point...I searched in many forum but no real solution

So if I understand correctly, if you wake up the phone and do not unlock it, eventually the phone unlocks itself?

not exactly, for the first hours, when I turn the screen off and turn it on again, the lock pattern screen displays correctly.
After some time, something happens, I don't know what, when I turn on the screen, instead of having the pattern screen, it goes directly to the home screen

Does it ever happen when not connected to a PC? I would suspect that being connected to a PC never really puts the phone to sleep, but simply darkens the screen.

once the problem appears by connecting to the PC, it will always remain, even after unplugging my GS2. The only way to repair is to reboot it...

If its connected to a PC in Kies or MTP mode, the screen will not lock, but just darken (This is for Samsung).

If its a random thing, can you get Kies working with it? There's a firmware reinstall option there I think.

When you remove it from the PC do you unmount it cleanly or do you simply yank out the cable?

simply yank out, how can you unmount it cleanly, I tried pushing the usb icon but it has no effect, and I have no usb icon in my PC systray

If yo are running Kies, you should disconnect before unplugging it. If you are simply transferring files in MTP mode, it shouldn't matter. I'd test it for you, but I'm running WidgetLocker which effects the lockscreen in other ways (and I don't use the lock screen anyway).
