Help Tasker autocorrects my profile

cartisdm

Android Enthusiast
I have the following profile:

Work
Context
From 7:30-5:15
Mon-Friday
Cell Near
Task
WiFi -> Set Off

When I create this next profile:
Screen Off
Context
Display Off
Not WiFi Conneted
Task
3G -> Set Off

The two tasks are not related. The idea behind the second one is that when I am not connected to a Wifi Network and my screen turns off, I want to disable 3g. The problem is when I set the 3G -> Set Off task and click Apply, it changes the first profile's task to 3G -> Set Off as well. I have no idea why! Visa versa if I go back and correct my first profile it will change the second one to WiFi -> Set Off

What is going on here? Is there another way to have my 3G turn off when the screen is off? Could I just ignore the context of Not WiFi Connected entirely?

EDIT: Ignore this thread. I deleted my profiles (for the third time) and just started from scratch. They must have been linked somehow? I'm not sure, maybe it was just a bug. Either way, Mods go ahead and delete this if you would like.

If you name a profile or task or context. Then use that named thing somewhere else, and edit it, it edits it for all of them. Use "clone" instead of recalling a saved one then modifying it.

Thanks for the tip.

I ended up ditching this profile idea after a few hours when I realized I can't get instant Beluga or gChat messages without 3g on. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted! :p
