Help Tasker help

I am using NFC launcher with tasker. I am having trouble doing what I would like to do.

I want to use a toggle tag to launch and close the desktop clock. I want to use this as a nightstand clock.

Launching the clock is no problem but when the android clock opens it is in a regular mode (bright and showing soft keys). Then I need to click once to dim then long click to quickly launch the screen saver. But if I just click to dim the screen saver will start eventually anyway so that's fine.

Anyway, using tasker, can I mimic an on screen click. This way it launches the clock when I touch the tag and automatically goes into dim mode? I've tried night mode in tasker but no lock.

Any help is appreciated!

I'm also loading the clock app in a profile to emulate a desk dock. I found that if you leave the device alone for a short time (1-3 minutes) it dims by itself.

Tasker can't simulate any kind of input without rooting, and even when rooted I'm not aware of any way to simulate a screen tap - only key presses and dpad actions. You could have Tasker turn off automatic brightness and set the brightness very low for a few minutes, until after the automatic dimming takes effect.

Yes that was the solution I came into was to just set the tag to start the clock and dim all the way to 0. Then I gave it one tap to dim and let it go into screensaver by it self. I wish tasker could simulate screen taps.

I am rooted by the way.
