Hi all,
Got me a new Thunderbolt, and until I get around to rooting it (WormDoes rocks), I just have some issues I'd like to get answered. General usage stuff!
1. In my GMail on the PC, I have a few groups. For example, when I create a new e-mail, I type "2011" and my son's baseball group pops up. But on the phone, I get no groups in the "To" field when typing that. That would be exceedingly useful. Why's it not happening and how can I fix?
2. I'd like to make desktop shortcuts to directly e-mail those groups. I'd also like to create shortcuts that will e-mail specific people. Can't seem to do that through the "Personalize" menu. How can I?
3. I would also like to create shortcuts that will send out text messages to a group of cell numbers from my contact list. How can I do that?
3. I am smack dab in the middle of zip code 01852, "prime" 4G coverage. And yet, 90% of the time I am on 3G. The phone doesn't seem to like to switch as I roam around, either. What can I do on this thing to ensure maximum 4G connection?
4. I've been directed towards rooting, but honestly, all the info out there makes my head spin. Can anyone point me to a simple place to start? I'm reading about ROMs, kernels, etc... I just want to start simple. Root the phone so I can uninstall bloatware, and get it personalized as I wish. I hear things about improved radio and transmission speeds and better battery life as well. I just need a good, simple resource to start.
5. What are the "must-have" free apps IYHOs? I might even be willing to pay short money for some truly awesome apps...
