Hello Group,
Teach me how to be able to select an app/widget that doesn't have a hidden freaking spam on it, and yes, I'm upset about the crap that comes along with very innocent apps that Ive DLd...

Thank you EB, I'm DLing it right now. I really cant believe how much crap can come with the Android OS apps.

Sorry, for the rant but I'm very disillusioned with the hidden nonsense that comes with the Androids OS...very similar to a PCs virus or maleware...just saying! Thx
 
Ok, next question...how do we use this?? I ran the scan function but later on I still got a couple of new icons.

I've not looked for a manual or anything, but there might be one available, somewhere. After it does the scan, you can click on the circles and it will tell you what apps are doing what.

There are precautions you can take to minimize any potential damage or nuisances. Using the app I posted is one way. You can also limit where you download from; utilize only established developers; use an anti-virus app (I've used avast! for years on pc, and it seems to work well on phone too)...
 
Add-On detector is a good app to help you find out what is pushing crap to your handset. You can also try Air-Push detector and Air-Push blocker. While I use only Add-On Detector, I have all 3 on my phone and will use all 3 if I'm getting any spam.

Also I'm assuming that you are running some sort of security program for anti malware and spyware... I use lookout cause it's free and it simply works, but there are other option in the play store.
