Root Teathering speed

Hi, I was wondering if there is any way to increase Teathering speeds? I have the WiFi Teathering app that comes with #2, I've updated it to beta 2 (I believe is the newest update but I may b wrong) but I'm getting at the most 5mb down and 1078kb up. Now I'm not expecting anything like the cable co. puts out, but the only thing I am able to do on the laptop is check my e-mail and that's it and I've tried FireFox, internet explorer, & chrome and theres no surfing the net at all and its not like I'm trying to download anything just wanna use my comp. while my regular internet is down. Thx in advance for any help anyone can offer

i get exactly what i get on my phone 4 mb. using pda but got my internet back up so i don't do it anymore

Its pretty bad and I understand why that is the case either, I'm able to connect and using internet explorer is at a snails pace, like super snail pace. If you connect using another phone it seems to work a lot better, but if you read the board if you use firefox with a client, it seems to work a lot faster.

Right I gotcha but is the user agent like the client?, and when I say it gets up to the 5mb's that's what it has built up to as I have taken a second look at it, it showes at the bottom of where the 5mb is that it gets as high as maybe 2.something kbs as its trying to load a web page which is pretty crappy. I have tried a few other Teathering aps some WiFi and some usb and have tried the client ad-ons but I still got the dns error and I could not get FireFox going for nothing unless I cut off the teather and then to brings up the blank page telling me that I need an internet connection wtf is up with that... lol u know but I guess its all good ill just either use my phones internet or wait till my internet gets back up and running or ill just run down to the library if I need internet. But thanks for the quick responses and help I appreciate it.

ok so this is what you need to do go to your tethering app press menu go to settings click on change device-profile and choose the LG Optimus S then go to your computer and open google chrome go to settings on google chrome and click on Extensions then click on get more extensions it is going to take you to chrome web store and search for user-agent switcher for chrome and ultimate user agent switcher, url sniffer then you click on ultimate user agent switcher, url sniffer icon on the right top coner of google chrome click and check Activate Now!! and choose Android 2.3 and know you are ready to use the internet and go anywhere without any problems i hope this help you with your problem...
