Root Telus DHD root issue - hulk smash!

Ok maybe not smash but still...

After several attempts following the guides here and at XDA I finally get my cerished #.

I reboot into the console and even though I have PD98IMG in the root of the goldcard it says image not found. Any ideas? Tried twice and downloaded a fresh version each time, I'm stuck! :(

Thanks for any help!

Ok so more research today shows that is not an uncommon error, but I have tried 2 different download spots for the f/w so I am at a loss as to what to do next.

Any advice would be nice as I really want this rooted! :(

honestly i don't know i was just downloading the one listed in the various instructions.

Kernal is 2.6.35.10-gdc4b908
Build: 2.43.661.1

Does that help?
And thanks for the reply!

ok first one came I checked is the same as yours
Second one is the same but both say the codes don't match.

So I got root then tried to apply the f/w but when it was finished it said upgrade failed ID's do not match. :/ this shouldn't be this difficult right?

I had the same issue, and using a different SD card fixed the problem. Tried for hours and after switching my card everything went easy and less than 30 minutes.

Not that your doing this, but I also had trouble at the start as I was mounting my card when using the adb instructions. Don't mount your phone, just leave it on charge unless the instructions say to mount.

I did finally get root to work about a week ago using about 4 different methods I found and just using bits and pieces from different sites, mostly the walkthrough on XDA.

I went with CM 7 but it was too buggy so running Revolution right now and it works awesome :) No complaints from this guy! Thanks to all who tried to help!

Celtyc!
How did you get the Telus DHD Gingerbread 2.43.661.1 rooted? I have 2 different SD cards as gold cards and put the image in the root .. once I get to the bootloader and it loads the image it then proceeds to check the image and then says model ID failed, did you ever get this error? If possible could you link to the image file you used in the bootloader?
