Help Temporary dead spots on screen.

I have an interesting problem, and I'm not sure what is causing it. When i'm typing out anything on the phone, it seems like I will randomly get a dead section of the screen where it won't register any of my screen presses. It mostly happens on the left side of the screen. If I delete a few letters, and then proceed with typing, it is all fine. Is this a bug with the keyboard software on the phone, or something I should take in to replace? It seems like it would be hard to replicate the problem in store as even I can't get it to do it all the time, it just kind of happens at random times. Has anyone else had this issue happen? Is it something that HTC is working on?

Are you running stock firmware? If so, I would get a replacement. If not, flash back to stock and see if the problem persists.

Chris, I actually had this problem but never posted about it. I since have a replacement TB and haven't noticed it on this one yet.

If I had my phone portrait, it was mostly happening with my question mark key which was in the lower right hand of the screen with the SwiftKey keyboard that I use.

And like you said, the problem would go away if I backed out of the screen and gave it some time. I'm not sure what the problem was, but I hope you can figure it out. I would try to get a new phone and go from there. Good luck!

I don't wanna swap phones out...again though. This is my 3rd thunderbolt. Its an annoyance more than anything. I just figure this isn't as bad as the column of dead pixels I had or the speaker that was blown. FWIW I am using smartkeyboard and it does it across all keyboards on the phone. I'm not running stock firmware.
