Help Temporary Fix to the Dropping Data issue

Ok so I finally got to speak to a verizon rep who knew what the hell they were doing.

He said the issues resulting from the outage have not been completely fixed, so we have to turn off the 4g on the phone.

The phone is constantly looking for 4g signals (Roughly every 30 minutes) which can result in the loss of data we have been experiencing, heres what I did:

- On the dialer, press *#*#4636#*#*
- This should bring up a menu
- Click phone information
- Scroll down to "SET PREFERRED NETWORK TYPE"
- Click the drop down
- Set the phone to CDMA auto (PRL)
- Exit out and your problem should be solved

Once these issues are fixed with Verizon we should be able to revert the phone to its original settings and have it work properly.

Yeah... this just bumps you off the LTE network.
Also improves your battery life by leaps and bounds.

TBH I am not sure what they benefit of having LTE on is.. unless I need to transfer large amounts of data I am starting to wonder what the benefit is.
Tower handoffs are terrible, battery life is sub par and it just appears to be unreliable at the moment in my town.

I think I will just flip it to 3G and leave it there unless I use the hotspot.

As a phone and on the solid 3G network it's a killer device.

I just got the TB today. I for one don't want to turn off my 4g. I fully charged it and them bump charged it 1245 today and it 545 right now. I am at 50% battery with moderate use. And its been in and out of 4g.

Or you can dial ##778# select edit then password is 000000 then select modem setting and select rev.a and select enable.

This will disable 4G LTE and you will be on regular 3g. To turn 4G back on do again and select the the third option under rev.a.

What a member posted when the thunderbolt had data issues a week or so ago.

I've been doing this since I got my phone back in March since I only get 3G where I live and I'm still getting dropped 3G data a couple times a days ever since the 4G outage. Sigh.
