Root Testing roms and darktremor a2sd

I have been changing roms frequently, and I almost always try to install darktremor a2sd. Each time I change rom I use easeus partition manager to format ext partition to clear apps I had installed. The one time I did not do this I got messages saying that disk space was low and something bout sms storage being full after flashing darktremor in CWM and rebooting. Am I doing it correctly by clearing the ext or is there a way to just relink the ext so apps will be available?

Go into mounts and storage in cwm and mount system ,mount data, mount cashe, and mount sd ext. Then reboot!
I had a Heck of a time with getting dt apps2sd to acknowledge the ext on my sd!
Now I have it working properly and I went to put Hroarks updates on and it lost the partition again!
So, I restored back to the config that works.

what i'm trying to find out is if there is a way to just add ext and the apps installed on it when i change roms. example. I have CTMOd with a2sd. lets say i install 50 apps then decide to use CM7 instead. so I change roms and add a2sd again without formatting sdext. willl a2sd find those 50 apps and just add them or would I have to reinstall the apps again?

use fewer apps

the dalvik-cache that builds with 50 user apps is too large for internal and dalvik is not linked by default. i suppose you could try to boot it with the warnings and quickly go to the a2sdgui to move and rebuild dalvik. that should work.

i keep about 15 apps on sd-ext all the time and they move between roms no problem. that way i always have the latest titanium to restore things like wifi passwords, app data and alarms pretty much immediately.

Same here. I don't have a bunch of apps either and I've been able to move roms and then install dta2sd without complication at all. Titanium for settings and all is back the way I like it.

could you please give me a brief explanation on how you usually install those 15 apps that stay on the sd-ext when you change roms? thank you in advance
