Help Tethering Evo to XP RNDIS issues

I hope I am posting this in the right place. Here is my issue. I am trying to usb tether my htc hero to windows xp. I have CM7 nightly build and windows xp sp3. The problem is it is trying to install RNDIS but my computer can't find it. Even when I download tetherxp.inf from http://www.android.com/drivers/tetherxp.inf and point my computer to search the directory that it is in it wont install.

Please help!

I tried to install htc sync to see if it would help... but it says no device connected. I know it is connected because I can browse the sd card from the computer.
