Help Tethering for stock indulge...will it ever work

Hey guys

I seen read, search and no help at all. Which tethering app will work for stock indulges? I know i can rooted and get any of then but i don't want to deal with Metro's new dumb policies on regards to rooted phones. Hey im paying 5 bucks a month and don't want to explain to the corporate store " ummm this is my 4th indulge thats mess up can you fix it for me" after that they will get kind of curious as to why so many phones have gone bad on me.

Their is no easy way to wireless tether on a non rooted phone, unless your carrier adds a system app that does it.
If you want, USB tethering might be an option for you. I believe EasyTether works on non-rooted phones as well now...
There's also PDANet, a paid app on the market that will also do the job for you, should you want it.

You're welcome mate. But I must tell you, if you want to connect your iPad to the phone for internet access, those aforementioned options won't city it.
You'll need to root the phone and use wireless tether for root users to get a wifi network setup. The connection must be AP, not ad hoc, remember that. Cause I don't believe iPads use ad hoc networks. I'm positive androids don't currently support them.

Like always Thanks Tiede also metro is getting a new LTE phone "the Esteem or Bryce " and that phone is a mobile hotspot. How are they going to cripple it since is a straight out hotspot? I hope they dont do anything to it. here the video i found of the phone

MetroPCS LG MS910 LG Esteem (code name "Bryce") LTE 4G - YouTube

They can do the same thing they did to the indulge, Eddy.
All they have to do is make it require a password, as in set the security to WPA-PSK, then erase the actual password on the database on the phone. And then mess with the phones DHCP configuration options by filling them with garbage instead of the actual configuration files and codes. Without an original or someone who knows about going around the mangled DCHP server problems, we cannot tether.
Otherwise, even the Indulge would be able to tether. The capability is in the indulge, only it's been crippled beyond repair by "guess tinkering".

I pray LG block their attempts and warm then if they mess with their phone they wont support then anymore.

thats not really how it works. Metro is paying LG for the phone, LG will do whatever Metro says pretty much.

Thats why i said "i pray they don't allow metro to call the shots" since you know also metro has to give and take to LG.
