Root Tethering issues

I have tried tried several different apps including foxfi and for some reason I still can't tether wifi. What gives? Some of the apps say wifi hotspots isn't supported, while other apps work fine and my lappy can connect but get limited access ( no internet). I'm lost on that one.

Also I keep getting a android system force close message. I did a data wipe cleared the dalvic fixed permissions and reinstalled Bob's kernel and chevanol's rom and I'm still getting the message. Confused.

Did you change your dns config on your computer?

1. In Windows 7 open Network and Sharing Center

2. Click on whatever wireless adapter is connection to your phone

3. Click properties

4. Double click "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)"

5. Click the radio button next to "Use the following DNS server addresses:"

6. Enter in 208.67.222.222 for your prefered DNS server.

7. Click ok.

8. ?????????

9. Profit.

OK I will try that, but I've also tried to connect with another tu and with an lg optimus and neither of them could connect to the internet either. How do I change the dns on a phone?

Awesome dude it worked, thanks. I'm sending this posting via my lappy on my hotspot connection. Once again thanks man.
