Root tethering options?

Tezel

Lurker
Mainly after USB tethering, but having wifi and bluetooth as well would be nice. Stock GB can do all of these, but the carriers almost always disable them to charge for wifi hotspot plans.

Do any of the roms available enable the stock tethering options in gingerbread, or am I stuck using one of those 3rd party options that I have to install an app and their program on my pc as well?

don't know about any of the others but Ultra rom did not add it to settings.

Starscrom had an app called star settings that had it as an option but it didn't work. that option might work on one of these 2.3.6 roms. You can get it from the starscrom download.
I haven't tried because Im happy with PDAnet/foxfi, booth work like and old ford truck. PDanet has 3 option Usb, Bluetooth and wifi which opens and turns on foxfi.

I know the blocked foxfi in the market but you can still get PDAnet and when you go get the pc installer I believe the have a foxfi download to. both are no root.

I use FoxFi. It has wifi and blue tooth tethering, but no USB. Google blocked it from us in the market per Sprint's request, but you can still download it from the Amazon App store or from the Foxfi developer's webpage.

FoxFi is still available to boost and sprint users... goto foxfi .com / bin without the spaces of course... you can get it there... FoxFi is the best wifi tether out there in my opinion... works grrrrrrreat! I feel like tony the tiger lol... anyhow, i hope this helps!
