Tethering questions...

Ok, so I am new to the concept. Was going to buy a tab at Christmas, but waited... Looking at several, Ipad, Archos 101, Zoom... here is my question...

If I go with an Android tab, what is up with tethering? We have Droid X phones with Verizon, and I just refuse to pay another damn data fee (even though these phones ROCK).

Is there a way that an adroid tab can use an android phone (or the X as the case may be) to get online without Wifi service, WITHOUT paying a fee? This will sway my decision BIG TIME if this can be done...

OH OH OH... there is a hotspot fee associated with Verizon I think, so that concept it out... also heard of using Blue Tooth to do this? All help and wisdom on this is appreciated.

You can use a rooted phone to use wireless tethering. I believe the Droid X can be rooted so you can use that and it's free.
