Tethering still free using 2.3.7

Apologize if this has been covered, but scanned through the threads & didn't see it mentioned...

Recently swapped EVO for NS4G. I've read that Sprint disable the free tethering function on unrooted phones back in july with the 2.3.5 update. My phone is runnign 2.3.7 & appears to still have the functionability... as I've connected several devices to it wirelessly.

Is anyone eles still able to utilize this feature? I'm expecting Spring to slap an extra charge at the end of the month... would like to know before hand.

thanks in advance!

What do you mean blocked? I can turn mine on just fine, haven't ever used it though.

It means that I can enable Wireless tethering, and can connect devices to my phone, but I can't get them out on the internet because Sprint blocks DNS to the phone, unless you pay for the $30/month hotspot package.

This was the slippery slope for Google, now there will soon be little difference between a Nexus device versus any other OEM Android device.
