Ok here is the deal I do not have the ability to use wifi on my pc however my roomate has wifi in our appartment and is willing to let me use if but wants to keep his router in his room. Is there a way i can use my phone to pick up his wifi and than tether it to my box. I am running fedora 16 and im new to the os my galaxy prevail is rooted and has wired tether which worked perfectly on windows 7 however pc crashed and could not afford a new windows so i went with Fedora since it is free. Here is what im doing.
1. Plug phone in via USB
2. Enable mass storage (to verify fedora is seeing phone which it is)
3. Turn off mass storage and turn on wired tether
4. look in connection manager and there is nothing
i am using easytether at the moment to post this and sort this out but it blocks secure web sites which is something i need the ability to do.
Thank you in advance for any assistance availabe,
Tom
