Help Tethering

Ok, so is there a guide to tethering, or what is the best method to tether? I have no wifi at the moment and want to tether just to do some basic things on my laptop. I have tried two different apps and they both do the same thing. If it's anything Google, Facebook, or Twitter the laptop connects almost instantly. Any other website and I get "No data received" and does nothing else. As well as I can only get Chrome to work. The start page to Firefox or IE will not open. Just the infinite loop that looks like it's trying to do something.

How about easytether? I read you have to change the user configuration on the computer you're using in order for it to work correctly...

The problem seems to be with the connection. I did a speed test using the phone and got 12mb download speed. Through tether I get less than dial up.

This makes no sense at all. I can play Angry Birds all day long on Facebok, but can't access a simple page like the National Weather Service.

I read it this morning, thanks. I got it working using that method. It's funny though, I searched for other tethering posts in this forum yesterday and came back with no results.

I don't suppose anyone knows a better program to use other than this UA String? I have tried this for the past couple of days and it only seems to work for 24hrs, then I have to un-install and re-install. It works for another 24hrs if that. This program is garbage and too much work just to tether.
