Help Text and New Message notification

[onmycell24]

Is there an app. or something else I am missing that I can get a large notification that I have a new text or voicemail? I work in a courtroom and have my phone silenced. I would just like to turn the phone to my home page and see a big notification. I have the itty-bitty icon on top bar. There was got to be a better way, but I feel like a big dummy Thanks in advance.

There is an app called SHOWSMS. Also if you use handcent sms it has a pop up feature to fill your needs, I recommend handcent because you can use with home scrren for sure.
As far as email, EMAIL POP. UP.
Might be better ones but this will work until you find them. All are found in the market. Just search for what you want. Use notifications as a key word.

Handcent also includes a home screen widget that shows you the number of new SMS you have received....Yet another reason to use it.

SMSpopup is pretty darn good.
