Help Text message being sent to wrong thread AFTER I hit send.

So I just updated to 2.3.5 about a week ago, and I'm not really a big fan of it. My battery life has decreased about 20% than it was on 2.2, and I'm having some other lags and issues. However, perhaps the biggest problem is that my phone sends text messages intended for one person to another person a thread below the intended person's thread. It's not that I'm accidentally selecting the wrong thread or whatever, but I respond to the thread with the intended receiver and once I hit send, the text is sent to the wrong thread. I'm sure you can see how this can be a problem. This problem occurs at least twice a day. I use the native text messaging app and I am a rooted user with the stock ROM. I have factory reset already (to get rid of the annoying tethering manager error) and it still hasn't remedied the situation. Any suggestions or have you heard of this ever before?

Just wanted to add that I have the same problem. Factory reset my phone too. The only thing I can think of is that I have 3g watchdog and Juicedefender on my phone. Literally, those are the only two apps I installed. I'd be interested to see if you have the same.

Also I noticed it only happens when I select a text message from the notification bar. If I hit the home screen, and select the messages app on my home screen the problem does not happen.

I have been having the exact same problem since the update. Also I do not have 3g watchdog or Juicedefender, so I don't think it's related to those apps.

This happens to me also and haven't heard how or if it can be fixed. I have had it happen many times now where I send a text and I make sure the name and conversation are correct and when I hit send...it gets sent to another person. This is very frustrating and sometimes embarrassing. Any ideas of how to fix this? It seems to have started happening after I upgraded to Gingerbread.....also, I am "technically" challenged, the easier the fix...the better. Thanks!

I've been having the same problem with my Captivate after the new update (and haven't gotten around to trying to fix it), so I'd be interested to know if anyone has found a permanent fix.

Usually, for me, it happens more often when I have many conversations going at the same time, meaning about 10 or more. If I delete some of those, I don't see the texts going to the wrong thread nearly as often. Maybe that will help you until something more permanent comes along?

I just get nervous when I'm texting now and it's anything I wouldn't want the wrong person to read. Hopefully someone can figure it out.
