Help Text Message indicator wont go away

Hello,

1st post. Great resource for my phone needs. I just got my HTC Evo 4g and when I receive a text and read it the message icon remains. I checked the settings and cannot see anything to change it. Is there something I can do so once i read my text that it will disappear?

Welcome to AF!!! Are you going to the message directly through the app or through the notification in the window? The notification won't clear if you just open the messaging app and go to the conversation. You either have to tap the notification or clear the notification using the clear button.

One more thing. When I get a text it seem I have 2 text programs. In "all apps" there is a white icon named "Messages" and a blue one with the smilie called "Messaging".

When I receive a text the indicator shows up for both.

Have you downloaded a third party messaging app? If you have, just uninstall the messaging app (if you're happy w/ stock) and you should be gtg.
