Help text message keyboard wont show up

My phone turned itself off, went from 80% battery to 6% in the space of seconds and now i cant even get the keyboard up to send a text message, the screen works when i swipe things in the general area of where the txt box/keyboard is, how do i rectify this?
 
With a name like that, why buy an Htc in the first place?...lol

Do a full factory reset first.

So long as its "stock" you should have no problem.
